A CHURCH PLATEAUS... and then stagnates!
Vol. 1, Issue 5/ March 16, 2007

A CHURCH PLATEAUS, and then stagnates.
Plateau takes place in a formerly growing ministry when men
stop doing what got them to the top of the mountain. It's
usually the "looking for new ideas" disease. This disease
hits men that are perhaps bored with the ministry. Its just
not fun anymore. Or, can it be that a growing church is not
happy with its amount of growth and starts looking for new
methods?

A growing church can increase its amount of growth by
simply
increasing its organization.

A quick cure for a plateau would be to just simply increase
your organization. Increase what got you to where you are.

I believe you can tell the difference between "plateau" and
"stagnation" by looking at your Sunday School/Bible Study
records. If you have retained the same number or less for
more than two years you are stagnated. If you have held
the same number for just under two years, move quickly and
stop it now before stagnation starts!

It's tough to motivate a group of people that don't want to
think about the "good ol' days" - the time when they put
out some effort to grow a church. Please understand
something, I do not believe there's a church anywhere that
cannot be brought to or back to a growing, dyanamic church
if it will follow Biblical principles of growth.

Regions Beyond has told you about the PEAR Formula. It will
give you a plan of growth that will work.
