"Giving in the Church"

I.   THE TITHE - What You Owe Based on what you earn, 10%. of gross wages

                 A.   Commanded by God

                       *For the local church ministry, Malachi 3:10

                 B.    Confirmed by Christ, Matthew 23:23

         II. THE OFFERING - What You Give Out of Love and Abundance or by Faith

             Based on what you have, I( Corinthians 8:12.

            A. Also commanded by God

            *Types of Offerings

             1. Benevolence

             2. Free-will

            3. Building

            4. Evangelism

           5. Missions

           6. Special Projects

          B. You cannot give an offering until you have paid what you OWE through your tithe.

     III. TRY GOD - Trusting God to Open the Windows of Heaven

        Based on what God can provide? (See the potential!)

       A. You cannot be involved in "Try God" until you obey in the matter of tithing, Malachi 3:10.

       B. You cannot be involved in "Try God" until you obey God in the matter of offerings,

       Malachi 3:10.

      C. Try God is trusting God to bless you in a miraculous way so that you can give more?

       D. Try God is expecting and getting the unexpected.
